Research & Education Foundation

As a complement to EAGLE, the Florida Justice Association Research and Education Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization established by the Florida Justice Association to enhance and foster an understanding of the justice system and the role of each citizen in the system as an advocate for justice and fairness.

The Florida Justice Association Research and Education Foundation was established in 1992 to conduct research, educational and charitable projects that promote the study and understanding of the justice system in Florida and the issues addressed by the justice system having an impact on consumers, victims and all Floridians.

Voter approval of Amendment 3 in 2004 to set limits on how much attorneys can earn from medical malpractice liability claims demonstrated the need to fully develop The Florida Justice Association Research and Education Foundation and increase its activities. The same special big corporate and insurance interests that brought us Amendment 3 continue to work to undermine the cause of civil justice in Florida.

This year, the Florida Justice Association is renewing and redoubling its efforts to strengthen its resources.

The Florida Justice Association Research and Education Foundation has created an an endowment fund that provides a conduit for the Florida Justice Association to realize its visionary and inspirational goals.

Investment income generated by the endowment enables the Foundation to provide information why we must preserve access to courts as we work to protect the rights of Floridians.

With an even stronger commitment to the Florida Justice Association Research and Education Foundation, we will have the ability to:
  • Conduct research to be used in legislative debates or to provide educational information on proposed constitutional amendments;
  • Support litigation regarding constitutional or public policy issues; and
  • Fund many current FJA expenses that should be legitimate activities of the Florida Justice Association Research and Education Foundation.
A well-funded endowment of the Florida Justice Association Research and Education Foundation provides a valuable resource as we work to increase awareness of the importance of civil justice access in Florida and the threats that exist to put justice out of reach of every day citizens.

With your commitment to the Florida Justice Association Research and Education Foundation, we will be in an even stronger position to thwart attacks on consumer rights.

There are many ways the Florida Justice Association’s membership can get involved with this endowment. Contributions are fully tax deductible as charitable contributions.
